Ms. Katie

Hi! The kids call me Ms. Katie. I am a fourth-year student at the University of Minnesota studying psychology and racial justice in urban schooling. This is my third year working at Sheridan and I love every second of it.

At Sheridan, you can usually find me supervising lunch or recess, leading reading groups, or working with students on social skills. Outside of Sheridan, you can find me out walking in the neighborhood (if you see me, say hi!), traveling somewhere new, or spending time with my family in South Dakota. Before I started working here, I worked at the US Department of Education in DC and numerous other elementary and middle schools, including other Spanish immersion and arts magnet schools.

You can usually find me in English-speaking classrooms, though I am fluent in Spanish and occasionally drift into the Spanish classrooms. Other ways I am involved at Sheridan include being a member of the Parent-Teacher Organization, Site Council, Instructional Leadership Team, Sunshine Committee, and Equity and Engagement Team.

Please feel free to email me at if you would like to be a part of the PTO, Site Council, or involved in other ways; or if you just want to hear something about your child's progress, it's more likely than not that I work with them!
