Ms. Amber Winter

Greetings Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

My name is Amber Winter, and I am the Instructional Specialist at Sheridan. I will be supporting teaching and learning in all classrooms as we ensure we meet the individual needs of all Sheridan students.

I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a M.S. in Elementary Education and a specialty in mathematics. I came to Minneapolis Public Schools as a math specialist at Waite Park Elementary and then became a classroom teacher at Whittier International Elementary. Previous to my role at Sheridan, I was the Instructional Specialist at Kenny Community School. I am very passionate about teaching and learning, and feel most rewarded when children recognize their own ability and exceed their potential.

Outside of teaching and learning, I love spending time with my husband, daughter and pets. I also enjoy going on walks with our dog, watching basketball and reading. I spent two summers teaching English and basketball in Puebla, Mexico.

I am excited for this opportunity at Sheridan and feel blessed to be working alongside such great teachers. I know this is going to be a productive, rewarding and enjoyable year, and I look forward to sharing this experience with you and your child. If you have any comments, concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for all that you do for your child!

Sincerely,

Ms. Amber Winter
